MD in Michigan said: “HSBC has been harassing me with hang ups and one ring calls. At first I didn’t think much of it but after a bit it wouldn’t stop. I’m glad I found your website, I called the CEO’s office, got an answer and told them to stop. He said OK, (Steven Rybarczyk is his name: 224-544-6983). 10 Minutes later I get another call from HSBC, got an answer and was hung up on immediately. It’s like I’m doing business with a jealous teenage girlfriend who calls then hangs up.”

EV in Texas said: “HSBC will not let me pay over the phone or via website automatic payments. I have been receiving bills, as has my dad, for the same loan and no live help will talk to me to let me know if they have duplicated the account. My account balance keeps increasing because every time I try to set up auto payments, it does not go through and the balance returns as a huge new sum. I worry this may affect my credit. Anybody else not able to get precise answers from them?”

SS in Ohio said: “In March, 2008, I transferred my Best Buy balance to a newly acquired credit card. By mistake I transferred a higher balance than was due. I have been waiting since 4-10-08 for my refund. Today 6-23-08, for the fourth time, I have been asked to call the call center and ask to have the check researched again. The accounting department will conduct research to verify that the check has not been cashed and a new check will be sent out. I have been told the same thing three times prior. This weekend on a Saturday I was advised that the check was out for delivery and if it didn’t show up Saturday I should expect it on Sunday.

DW in Pennsylvania said: “I did a refinance to close my Direct Merchants HSBC account, and the attorney that did the closing sent the check out to pay off this account. A week after being sent they called my attorney to see what to do with a check with a account number and my name on it, Which they told them to pay off the account. For two weeks I kept checking to see if this account was paid in full and calling every other day and they never told me, They called my attorney. So we paid for the the check to be stopped. I had them make one out to me. Before paying it online I called to have them pay for the stop payment fee and reduce the interest amount because they lost the check, and they called me and my lawyer liars so I just paid it off and canceled it and plan to let as many people know how unprofessional this company is and the customer support team only knows what to say from there scripts.”
