GR in Arizona said: “In December 2006 I became disabled due to a minor accident but continued to make my payments on my Suzuki motorcycle account. In March 2007 I was informed that a secondary problem had developed and that I would be hospitalized for major surgery. I April 2007 I attempted via 3 letters to Credit Manager in 3 different locations advising of my disability. This went ignored. While in hospital they defaulted my loan, raised interest rate gfrom 4.9% to 21.9% and raised payments tp $384.00.

WG in oregon said: “HSBC has been collection menions have been hounding me for weeks for payment on a fraudlent credit card account that was created from my stolen identity. I have filed a complaint with the County Sheriff’s Office where I reside and provided the case # to HSBC. Their fraud department agreed that this was a case of identity theft but the harassment continues by phone day and night from collection agencies. If HSBC had followed the minimum loan approval process they would have known that the information used to obtain a Master Card from them was fraudulent.

VH in Oregon said: “I am frustrated…I have received paperwork from a HSBC subsidiary mortgage company called Solstice Capital that has fradulent information about me on it. I tried to contact Solstice and their answer was to offer to take me off their mailing list but there was nothing they could/would do to help me find out where they got the fraudulent information. When I asked to speak to a manager or their fraud department they just hung up on me. I went then to the “net” and found out Solstice Capitol was purchased by HSBC in 2006 so I have been trying to get someone at HSBC to help me but all I have got is sent from one place to another with no one admitting that their department is in charge of Solstice Capital’s Mortgage Division.

JA in New Jersey said: “Well Where Do I Start with the many issues at BENEFICIAL? My Heart is heavy and I feel like I gained 20 years for working just 2 yrs at beneficial. I am ashamed and guilty of doing what was told of me to do when I knew better. I was one of the top INSURANCE PACKAGERS IN MY DISTRICT ..heck tops in the country plaques for insurance and Home and Auto…I should be ashamed of myself..I closed an average of 4-7 deals a month and made absolutely no money…what a joke. HSBC is only concerned with what they could use you for and how long they could get away with it…. sell the first, sell the first… come on …they were better off staying in their arm….Since I have left bene I am starting to get some of my soul back but will never be the same…all I could say to you AE’s out there reading this FHA FHA FHA….you can do so much better and not have the guilt and pressure of working those long hrs to reach GOAL and rope in and pressure people into doing a loan that is bad for them anyway.”

KF in FLorida said: “My husband and i purchased a Plasma TV from Best Buy using 2 methods: An HSBC account and a HSBC Mastercard account (as listed as # 2 in one of your reports) at Christmas time 2008. We have since consolidated some C.C.’s and HSBC was one of them. The “mastercard” acct was accepted into HSBC’s DMP WITHOUT a “signed” document. The problem i am having is the “Best Buy” side supposedly had a “promotion”(which i never did) and that i didn’t “sign” their document and send it back. So they have continued to charge me the regular interest rate, on top of a “late fee”, debt cancellation charges (which they claim was insurance i signed for in the application - even though its optional) and of course “deferred finance charges” since i didn’t pay off the 1800 balance by March 2008.
