RG in Arizona said: “Do not use HSBC for mortgages or refinancing unless you love to go through hell and lose money. I have investigations ongoing from state and federal agencies along with the better business bureau into the business practices of HSBC Bank, Mortgage Division. The complaint concerns two issues:
1.) Deceptively assuring customers that loans were pre-approved to collect non-refundable application fees
2.) Performing fraudulent appraisals.
KS in Wisconsin said: “Regarding WN in California. All WN needs to do is take the Death Certificate and Death Notice to the branch office. Give these to the Manager and they will take care of it. If the loan is a mortgage, then about two-thirds of the loan might be covered if the loan is over $150K (something in the policy about full pay offs). Being a former and highly disgrunted employee, I can fully understand what WN is going through, but I know that the steps provided are the only way to get this loan paid in full or reduced. I further know that the branch manager can set up a payment plan based on the hardship. I would also have WN pull out and check all the loan documents as the insurance plans have the key contact listed on them on how to reach HSBC/Household’s insurance company. It is also important to know that most of the insurances do not last the full term of the loan, and can expire after 3 -5 years depending on the loan.”
ES in North Carolina sends this opinion: “Please explain how HSBC Watchdog does the consumer any good?
I read all of the complaints posted but I see no action done by HSBC other than sending fraudulent documents and getting away with their deceptions. You would probably get better results going to a chat room. Think about it people, why would HSBC help us the consumers? HSBC ONLY HELPS HSBC! DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM UNLESS YOU WANT and WILL GET EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE KISSES.”
CF in Connecticut sends a welcome, well written, detailed follow-up to his ongoing battle with HSBC:
“This another follow up to the on going battle with HSBC regarding my mortgage. AS I stated in earlier posts my loan has been found and verified to be in violation of Truth in Lending, RESPA and HOPA. HSBC has further violated the law by refusing to comply with 3 not one but 3 valid and legal Rights To Rescind.
