While HSBC is thinking about selling HSBC Auto one New Jersey gives HSBC more to think about with this report on how HSBC Auto does business: “HSBC Auto are the absolute worst! They call me at 8:00 am on Sunday mornings, they call me after 9 pm on weekdays.. and they call and harass me on my job while 3rd parties are on the line. Too bad for them I’ve come across “my rights”.”

AR in Texas says: “I can’t get HSBC to stop billing me $55 a month for a credit card that I paid off and have cancelled twice.”

CM in North Carolina said: “I did a home equity loan to consolidate my bills and to purchase a used car in 2000. With every statement, my balance is always the same as the beginning balance. The Monroe office that year told me that it was okay and that it was just a glich in the system and assured me that my balance would be going down. Later that year, I fell on hard times and cashed the $5000 personal promotional loan check they had sent me in the mail for being such a “valuable customer”. It seems that year after year things come up and has made it difficult for me to pay my bills on the disability check I get.

LW in California said: “I am applying for a refinance on my home. The bank alerted me that HSBC/RS was showing up on my credit report to the tune of $19,988. I have never heard of them and have never had an account with them. They work quite diligently to keep me from finding out what I can do about it! Next step is to file against them with the Comptroller of the Currency etc. I would appreciate any other ideas you might have as to what I might do.”

VL in New York sent this short but informative report that gives some insight into HSBC and FICO scores: “HSBC increased our rate to 32% when we have a credit score of 711 or 718 and not one missed payment.”
