I read the most recent posting and want to agree whole heartedly. Not only is HSBC charging outrageous rates and fees, but they are treating their employees with no dignity. I too am now with a REAL lender, and charging normal rates, and since I have been in the REAL WORLD outside of HSBC, I realize the poor way in which HSBC treats its customers and employees. Now getting let go was the best thing that ever happened, because it opened my eyes to the REAL WORLD of lending, but the way in which I was treated was very unprofessional, and with no respect for me or my family.

A former HSBC employee sent this email. We are posting it in both of our blogs:
“I was a BSM at HSBC until last month when I decided that I would not wait for the layoffs to do something with my life. It saddens me to know what you are all going through waiting for the axe to fall. I am now working in the real mortgage world for a direct lender/broker making more money and offering real rates. Several other HSBC employees came with me. If you are being laid off, send me an email. We are looking to hire an additional 10 people working for this company. Email me at rachndylan@yahoo.com. The positions are located in Virginia.”

BF in California said: “Until I read the complaints you’ve posted, I didn’t realize that this scam was going on. This is the third month that I’ve tried to pay my bill online and could not access the hrsaccount.com website. The last 2 times I paid by phone and had to pay the extra $15 per payment. I will do it again this month, but will close out my account with this company. I’ve had enough!”

DD in California said: “I have repeatedly been harrassed and threatened by phone from the HSBC collectors to collect a debt on a friend’s loan I didn’t sign for. I went with him to look at motorcycles and while I was there I ran my credit. I DID NOT sign, co-sign or purchase anything. I only signed one paper to see where my credit was at BEFORE my friend picked out his bike. Later my friend picked out and purchased a Yamaha motorcycle. I didn’t sign or co-sign any of his purchase papers. This was Spring of 2007.
