CM in North Carolina reports: “My son purchased an IPOD from Best Buy with the insurance protection plan. It was stolen and we filed the complaint within the 30 days. Just got a denial letter today stating it wasn’t received in time. I know it got there in time. Lucky for us I sent the complaint certified mail return receipt. Sure hope they don’t try to argue with USPS. I have the receipt and USPS confirmation of delivery time and date! Will post again if they still refuse to pay”

NE in California says: “This is not a complaint with best buy. I just want to share my experience to make other card members aware that they should always read their Best Buy statement. I just paid almost $500.00 of deferred finance charges, because I missed the pay-off the promotional 12 months 0% interest on the due date. May I suggest also with Best Buy to educate all card members about the calculation of deferred charge before the due date to “alert” and “inform” them.”
NM in Pennsylvania says: “HSBC has my MasterCard account dispute $170. frivolous HSBC penalties since Dec 01 2006 which it unlawfully is failing to recourse from HSBC undisputed balance of $0 as I pay off my monthly balances; HSBC frivolously demands I pay its unevidenced $35 late monthly payment. HSBC penalty unmeritedly alleged on my account re a payment check that I mailed HSBC timely via an HSBC payment envelope; I’ve Petitioned HSBC for a copy of HSBC’s postmarked payment envelope to prove my payment date; But no reply; HSBC records are incorrect &worthless because it is a predatory company according “HSBC Watch Consumer Advocates” online describing similar complaints as mine vs HSBC on abuses and misconduct including delayed posting of my monthly payments until HSBC can then add on illegal penalties; Postal service maybe delayed my mailing; HSBC I believe sat on my check until a $35.late fee kicked in & then pyramided HSBC more frivolous penalties now up to $170.
PP in Alabama sends this short report: “My account should have been closed in 2001 but it’s still showing on on the credit report as inactive, not closed.”
TH in New Yorks says: “I have been on the phone between Home Depot and HSBC all morning. No yelling, just trying to get something accomplished. Then I was told my card would not work so I had to call the bank where we signed up in Cortland NY. I spoke with Rachel and asked why the card was still being held back and she told me that it was for my own good because I keep getting service charges. Well I am a small business and she is very right, but I pay for every charge and I must have my money to operate. I know it is home depot that owes me $8200 direct deposit and they did not get it right, but if I pay my debts, aren’t I the exact kind of customer a company like HSBC would want?
