EO in New Jersey says: “I purchase furniture from a retail establishment which used HBSC to offer 1 year deferred payment. Each monthly bill indicates $0 amount due, INCLUDING THE ONE THAT HAS FINE PRINT AT BELOW INFORMING YOU THAT YOUR DEFERRED PAYMENT PERIOD IS UP. It is not until the next bill which includes the 12 month finance charge, is there an amount due listed in the amount due box. This is misleading, deliberate I am sure, to catch people who forget the exact date of purchase of the item, 12 months ago.”

JH said: “I have had HSBC Visa for several years, never really used it much. I also don’t get any statements from them, just an email notice when “payment is due”. Usually with zero balance, and for many months. I happened to look at my account and found $250.00 balance! Immediately very concerned (scare of identity theft, etc). And did not recognize the vendors, but the phone numbers were there so called one of he vendors, some auto advantage outfit. The rep was nice enough to take the charge off my card.
MC in Florida says: “Talk about not being able to get response from HSBC, I live 4 miles from one of the main centers (Brandon FL). My Mtg was purchased by HSBC. I pay my Mtg 7-10 Days early every month. In the early part of 2007 I was having some issues with my checking account. This required the use of Money Order Payments. Since My Mtg & Escrow is more than $1,000.00 (Max money order I could get was 1k) I split the money orders one for P&I the other for Escrow
Is HSBC related to Household Finance? My mother had a loan with them (house) and they robbed my mother left to right. She ended up refinancing her house and going with another company. She did not even take the loan out with them somehow they acquired the loan. The same with us. We were with Mitsubishi Finance Corp (or bank - something like that) all of a sudden we received a letter in the mail stating Mitsubishi wasn’t doing the loan anymore but HSBC Auto Finance.
JR said: “My sister and I are having a lot of problems with HSBC. When we call all you get are people from the Philippines and India. They are messing up our credits and not applying our payments to the loan. We pay every month faithfully and never missed a payment. They are now threatening to repossess our car if we don’t pay $991. We don’t know where they come up with these fees. My sister has been paying late fees from left to right and they always find a way to say we owe again. We don’t know what’s going on or where to go for help.”
