BW in Alabama said: “HFC & their collection attourney tried to put a lien on my parents house where I used to live, and a lien against my parents checking account. All because me and my Dad have the same first name. They dropped that effort and now have a garnishment on my wages. I am trying to make a settlement, but HSBC’s settlement offer is not very much of one. Every time I talk to them the numbers are different. I am in distress. Please help.”

JC in Kansas said: “If your account is sent to this FFPM Carmel Holdings I, LLC (phone number 866 235 0829) out of Bloomington MN in regards to HSBC be careful on settling. What they dont tell you is that the next year they will send a 1099-C to you. Make sure if you settle, that you dont leave more than $600 owed to them. When questioned the only answer you get is that “well you settled, you owe it”.
SS in Ohio said: “I was using a settlement company to try to get an HFC debt off my back. HFC decided to sue me for a judgement, so i borrowed some money from my sister to start making payments. The HFC demanded $4000 by January 30 and $7000 by February 20. Thats is their proposed payment arrangement. That is impossible.”
