GM in Connecticutt said “I have been a HSBC GM Card holder for fifteen years with a $16,000 credit line. I pay my card in full each month, and have a 800 FICO score. Since November 2008, HSBC has rejected transactions on my card three times with no prior warning. The first time was when my wife was rejected at the local warehouse club on a Friday evening. Fortunately she had another card with her. The second time they rejected an annual billing my internet vendor. Just today, they rejected my attempt to book a hotel for one night. They then followed up with a phone call from India asking me to verify five other transactions.
HB in New York said: “I am in Brooklyn New York. The HSBC on Fulton Street (Brooklyn Law school building) has got to be the worst in customer service. The officers and tellers are lethargic. At lunch time which is the busiest, they only have ONE person at the window. Today I stood in line for 20 minutes and had to leave. This is the way they operate regulary. People have complained to the branch manger but to no avail.”
NH in Ohio said: “I have a balance with GM and they jacked my rate to 31.34% from 13.49%. The reason I was given was a “business decision” even though I have never missed a payment…..I’m furious about this and have vowed never to buy another GM vehicle. I’ve even another HSBC loan through Kawasaki that I’d paid completely off. I really hope they get hauled into court and lose their greedy a**e* on this one.”
RB in Florida says: “I was charged through Airtel callhome back in July 7, 2007. I never made the charges so I disputed the amount and it was taken off in September 2007. By November what’s on my card but these same charges that HSBC had reversed. Again I disputed these charges and have been battling with HSBC ever since. Beware of GM flex cards and HSBC. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.”
