NL in Wisconsin said: “If I was to give advice to anyone with a HSBC card… GET RID OF THE DAMN THING!! Well there is the point that I am going to try to put across. I used to work for Younkers about 2 years ago. When I was hired they automatically signed me up for a HSBC card to make employee purchases. Which at the time was cool with me, well at least for about the first 9 days. For most card companies that you might have they would at the very least send you an actual card to make purchases. Yep, from the day I opened it to the day I closed the account I never received a card (about 18 months) or a bill/ statement.

The following complaints about HSBC, received from individuals around the country, should be considered as allegations only. We make no effort to investigate the validity of complaints submitted by customers and non-customers. Instead we monitor complaints such as these for trends that can be verified, just as we did before Household International was charged with predatory lending. Similar complaints from different states, where the people are unknown to each other, often lead to discovery of trends.

G.E. in California sent this report about customer service calls at 5 AM:  “In May of 2006 I purchased a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic at Luke’s Kawasaki in Charleston, SC (843-572-4541). The motorcycle was financed through HSBC. I purchased the bike with a contract stating the low monthly payments would be $69 a month for 24 months. The interest rate would be 6.99% for 24 months. No payments would be due for the first 45 days.
