LB in California said: “I recently applied for an HP (Hewlett Packard thru HSBC) credit card. Today, I received a packet for an HSBC product called My Account Protector telling me My HP credit account was now covered. The notice claims I signed up for this service, but I did not do so.

JB in Ohio said: “I started Account Secure when I had taken credit on my credit card in case I got laid off from my job, became disabled, or died so that my payments would be paid. I have been charged a fee/dollar that I owe on my credit card sometimes in an amount over $50.00 because I have been allowed a large credit amount.

PG in Oklahoma said: “I have been trying for 4 months for someone to explain to me why I am being assessed a late fee. When I originally obtained my line of credit loan, I requested the unemployment insurance (in 2005). I had 3 years of on-time payments (mostly more than the required amount) and when I was laid off in 2008, I had to request the insurance take over my payments.
