SS in New Jersey said: “HSBC calls around 10 times in one day including my place of employment. They do not leave messages on my voice mail but I know from Google that those numbers are HSBC’s. It is also pretty bad when you have to have your phone on vibrate in church because they also call on Sundays. Now I was enrolled with a debt management program but needed to miss one payment due to car problems. However, I am now back on it but I AM SICK OF THE HARRASSMENT FROM HSBC.”

MS in Ohio said: “I was layed off Dec. 2008 and recieved a hardship reduction on my loans with HFC. In June 2009 I was still layed off and tried to renew my hardship. None of my economic problems changed yet I was denied the hardship reduction. No-one at HFC contacted me or when I contacted them could tell me why I was denied.

Willie in California said: “I lost my job in April due to disability, and called HSBC on a credit card for a settlement or hardship payment plan and they flat out refused. Customer service reps were very rude.

Michelle in Michigan said: “I am being sued by Beneficial HSB. I received an unsolicited check in November of 2004, for $10,300. I, stupidly, thought my prayers were answered. I was still paying on this up until Dec of 2008. I called HSBC to see if they could lower the payment or the finance charges they said no.
