I was forced to take a demotion in Jan 2008, I closed 1 Branch in SC due to optimzition and was FIRED on Thursday of last week for supposedly a “Time Entry Error”. My DSM walked into my branch on Tuesday of last week and confronted me with the allegation. I of course did not make this time entry error (I have been around too long). He then informed me by phone later that day that I was suspended for 2 days pending an HR investigation.

CD in Minnesota said : “I worked for Beneficial Household Inc. for 8 years. I worked hard for them but they were never satisfied and because I would not do a lot of the things they required. They demoted me. They are the most corrupt people. Bill Aldinger is one of the greediest people. They screwed the employees because they knew they were selling out to HSBC for a certain price so for months we did not get our bonuses, but the board and Bill Aldinger voted themselves huge bonuses prior to the sale of the stock, whilst our 401k tanked. Aldinger voted himself a 15 million dollar bonus.

I was told I was undermining the DSM’s authority openly and flagrantly and that I was no longer needed. What specifically did I do according to them? They told me:
A person in Indiana said: “I am a current employee of HSBC/Beneficial. I have been there for 11 yrs. I have tried to quit, but with the market being so bad, there is nowhere to go. My BSM recently strong armed a fellow AE into putting an elderly couple into a 40 year mortgage to save them $50/month! These people are on a fixed income, and are suffering from blindness and ill health, but he insisted that the AE close the loan.
