I have had as many as 9-10 phone calls a day. They start with “Do you have a family member that may help you?”, calling before 8 am and alot of calls after 9 oclock. They have hired people that i cannot understand as they are of a different race. Some talk so fast that i just hang up; english and other nationalities.

I have had a checking account with them for the full two years but had never written a cheque. I went in to another branch as it was more convenient and asked to have some temporary cheques made up. I was then told that there was a note on my account saying that I had no cheque writing privileges, I was told to contact my own branch.
Angry in Canada said: “Tried to get wire transfer from offshore HSBC account. Waited already 2 weeks. Spoken to several people during the day and night, sent secure emails and faxes, still no luck. Getting all types of responses from HSBC outsourced call centre with different rep every time.”
DL in Canada said: “Not in the States so not sure this will be of interest, but have dealt with what was HFC for over ten years and noticed a change for the worse in last year or so. Thank heavens my account is nearly paid off, but I missed one payment and HSBC has been calling almost daily, anytime from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., even after being told I will pay off account (less than $100 at this stage) in two payments first of Nov. and Dec., and when I asked to speak to a manager in the Montreal office, he was “in a meeting” too busy to talk to a customer.
