I received my credit report after trying to get a refinance loan at the bank. I had a lower score because HSBC/Rhodes filed a complaint in July about me having a missed payment. I don’t even have a loan or credit card with them. This is fraud and ruining my credit.

From A.D. in Washington: I received a call before Thanksgiving from an HSBC representative asking that I make a payment on my credit card that was overdue. I told them I didn’t have an HSBC credit card.

I purchased an amplifier from Guitar Center over a year ago. Because of my good credit rating, I was approved for $5,000 on my Guitar Center card. I’ve only purchased this amplifier and supplemental gear with the card in a one-time, POS purchase. My principle was around $500. I began payments immediately through automatic drafts through HSBC of at least ten dollars over my minimum fee ($15/month).
