JG in Oklahoma said: “I have maintained a HSBC Platinum MasterCard account since 2005. My Credit Line was initially set at $3,000. In August of 2006 it was increased, without request to $3,800.

The account has always been paid in full each month prior to the scheduled date due. My last Statement (02-26-09) showed that the Credit Limit was reduced to $1,560. The was no notice prior to receiving the monthly statement. Today, I received a letter that the account credit limit has now been reduced to $300.

There is absolutely no reason for this reduction, either in the way the account has been maintained or with my current credit standing. I have been actively reducing all my unsecured debt, which will be all completely paid off before the end of this month. HSBC acted in very nonbusiness like fashion making this idiotic change in my account without proper notice.”
