CW in Michigan said: “HSBC started putting a $9.99/month charge on my credit card for “Identity-Plan.com”. I never authorized this. When I called to cancel, the phone rep couldn’t even tell me what HSBC was! This is definitely a scam by HSBC.”

Editor’s Note: identity-plan.com automatically forwards to http://www.identityprotectionplan.com/, where the bottom of the page identifies it as an HSBC website. Marketing an identity protection plan, HSBC actually quotes the FTC and identity theft data. Is this report ironic in that regard?
