JC in Kansas said: “If your account is sent to this FFPM Carmel Holdings I, LLC (phone number 866 235 0829) out of Bloomington MN in regards to HSBC be careful on settling. What they dont tell you is that the next year they will send a 1099-C to you. Make sure if you settle, that you dont leave more than $600 owed to them. When questioned the only answer you get is that “well you settled, you owe it”.

Funny thing is, the amount left is interest and late fees on how long it took me to settle. Not to mention that they dont send these out until mid-February. If you have already filed, now you have to ammend. So more money in the end. They dont inform you of any of this when you agree to the settlement. Watch out.”
