TL in Texas said: “Like a naive child I went to HR Block to file my taxes. When they ask me if I wanted an HSBC m/c prepaid card to deposit my IRS return on, I said sure, paid my $20.00 for the card and left expecting to receive funds on that card. Two weeks later HSBC has my money from the IRS but will not disburse it because they say they cannot confirm my identity?

What is up with that? I had to show ID and financial information to HR Block when I filed- HSBC did not ask me for ID when I spent the money to get a prepaid card – now they have my tax refund and they are sitting on it!

It looks like they will not return it to the bank for 4-6 weeks and then another 6 weeks before the IRS will get it to me. Does this seem right to anyone else. And please do not call these folks – they do not even want to hear about it, they say it is just their policy and they cannot tell me why they think I am not who I am. I even went to HR Block and they called with my ID’s (not one but three picture ID’S) and they still would not release my money. THANKS! Helpless in Texas”
