RB in California said: “I LOVE THE FACT THAT ALL THE HSBC - ORCHARD BANK credit card ads are now GONE. Even when you go to a credit card site for bad credit, HSBC NO LONGER SHOWS! I guess they are pissed they don’t have free reign any more! YEAH BABY! Thanks Obama for bringing ethics BACK!”

Editor’s note: Whether credit is given to President-elect Obama or others, on April 18, 2008 reform of the credit card industry’s more abusive practices took center stage on Capitol Hill as the House Financial Services Committee held a hearing on the “Credit Cardholders’ Bill of Rights,” legislation sponsored by Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) that would limit interest rate hikes and hidden fees on credit card accounts.
