KW in Missouri said: “My husband made some purchases with the HSBC Yamaha credit card a couple years ago. Now, first off the interest rate is way too high on that card. But the real horror behind this company is that it is a pit of despair using this credit card. It’s a TRAP! We started out owing them about $4500, and after 2 years of making $100 payments every month we still owe over $3000!

Here’s why: Every other month HSBC came up with SOME off the wall reason to charge us an extra fee; reasons ranging from not paying on time (i.e. a day late) to missing a payment (i.e. “got lost in the mail”). Another problem is that I would mail in a check, and it would just suddenly disappear! I had to stop payment twice with this company because my checks “never made it” to them. Another problem is one month we made a $200 payment, the very next month we made a $150 payment. My husband called two weeks later to confirm receipt of the payment and they said our account was up-to-date.

The following month our account was past due! Why? Because supposedly the $200 payment just disappeared, even though our account was up-to-date. So what happened to that $200?? Well, there was actually no record of that payment ever leaving my account! Even though HSBC confirmed it! Then HSBC claimed the very next month we were past due. I don’t know what the hell is wrong with these people, but if you have an account with HSBC do everything in your power to get the hell out of it!! Get a different credit card and pay that SOB off!”
