This is a copy of a credit card complaint letter about HSBC India:
I am from India and the below case happened to me and since the sueing laws are not very strong in India credit card companies especially HSBC are taking the customers for a ride almost amounting to extortion, kindly go thru the mail and advice on the legal implications of sueing HSBC in general. I would like to also mention that after almost 3 months of torturous fighting they finally accepted their mistake and have reversed the entries but I have been defamed and have gone thru a lot of anxiety for which I want to make them pay. please advice.

Sub: Non response to wrong credit from your side. I am responding to the above referred letter where you have asked me to clear my over due outstanding, failing which my credit history is going to get impacted. Well please go thru the rest of the letter and respond suitably, failing which I will take legal action against you for having wrongly credited my account,  not solving the issue for 6 months, harassment by your collection agents, and defamation by sending letters. I refer the statement dated 07-03-06 to 06-04-06, there was a opening balance of Rs.6,999.98 and a payment credit of Rs.5,999.98 plus other finance charges, All though the payment made was Rs.6,999.98 the credit was Rs.1000.00 short.
This was brought to the notice of your call center executives who were not able to solve and kept on postponing the issue, I had also faxed a letter with bank statement copies to your fax nos 022-24981135 Mumbai office, 044-42620572 Your Chennai office Mr.Raju but with no progress. I have also hand delivered the letter with the bank statement to your Bangalore office where the debit in my account shows Rs.6,999.98 where you have shown a credit of Rs.5,999.98 but all I received were some more calls asking whether I will pay up or not, I Have done transactions more than Rs.15,000.00 after this issue and paid those promptly why would I not pay what is due? In this case you owed me the money. I have attached the statement, bank statement copy and the letter which was forwarded. I would like to see a response within 3 days of receipt of this letter. I am marking a copy of this letter to the grievances cell Reserve Bank of India as you people seem to be interested in recovering money which is not due to you which in plain words amounts to stealing.
