AG in Texas reports:  “First, thank you for your great website! I’m an HSBC victim. I first received an HSBC account through a Suzuki dealer totaling $7000 + in early 2006 and then a second account at a Honda Dealer totaling $10000 + in mid 2006. HSBC makes it easy for consumers to fall into their money pit traps. I’m not sure if anyone is actually denied an HSBC account and I think I know why by what I’ve read on your website posts. I called HSBC several times about the first account to ask why my promotional end date is not listed on my statement and customer service could not answer my question, are always careless and rude.

To date I have not received a straight answer about that question! The second account started off bad from the get-go. My purchase was for $11500 in which I made a $1500 down payment and financed $10000 at an interest rate that does not match my credit rating. I knew since the credit limit was set right at $10K that the interest alone would push my credit over limit in 30 days if I didn’t give over the minimum payment before the end of my first bill. So I made a $150 payment after 15 days and a $100 payment before the first billing statement was received. Mind you, the first billing statement I received was 60 days later!

Needless to say the $250 somehow did not cover the 60-day interest fee and my credit went over the limit by about $25. HSBC provided this information to the credit bureau and my ID Theft Protection alerted me of this. I called HSBC right away to explain and they again were careless and rude. I then sent an email and they sent me a form to fill that states my concern. I received a response back saying that they were sorry but they can’t do anything about what happened. So I promised to pay my account in full and NEVER use HSBC again!

I called a few minutes ago to check on the status of a payment that I just sent out and sure enough, customer service was careless and rude. I can’t understand why HSBC would throw away a customer like me, with FICO scores of over 700 with all credit bureaus, who can afford to pay off $17000 in personal credit debt in about one year. Soon both accounts will be paid in full and I can assure the world, I WILL NEVER USE HSBC AS LONG AS I LIVE!”
