HG in Texas said: “Hello, It’s good to know that there is a watchdog out there looking for the better interest of the consumer. I have also been scammed by HSBC. I obtained funiture at Funiture Row for $3645.86 on 12/06 with a no interest percent and no scheduled payment till Jan 2009. As of right now, HSBC says I owe them over 6 thousand dollars. I too did not know about the debt cancellation fee which was not on the original invoice. After reading some of these complaints I am contacting the OCC, my senator or rep and possibly the local TV stations. I don’t feel that I should pay all that money to HSBC, would agree to pay original sum. I also feel that the media should do a report to notify the public and make them aware of looking into who is they will be paying their account to.”
