HSBC and HFC just as bad in Canada
DL in Canada said: “Not in the States so not sure this will be of interest, but have dealt with what was HFC for over ten years and noticed a change for the worse in last year or so. Thank heavens my account is nearly paid off, but I missed one payment and HSBC has been calling almost daily, anytime from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., even after being told I will pay off account (less than $100 at this stage) in two payments first of Nov. and Dec., and when I asked to speak to a manager in the Montreal office, he was “in a meeting” too busy to talk to a customer.
I am consulting Credit Counselling services to see if anything can be done, as I find this stressful. I have high blood pressure, cannot pay any faster, and have some problems with nervous stress since the death of my oldest son several years ago. I have told HSBC reps all of this and the calls just keep coming. They also use automatic dialing where you are asked to hold for a call, like you want to sit on hold waiting to be harassed!!! HSBC also closed a local (previously HFC) office which made it possible to get payments mailed in sooner and have local contact. CANNOT WAIT TO PAY THEM OFF!! Would never, ever deal with this company again and advise others to do the same.”
