Best Buy customer finds debt cancellation fee
RW in Arkansas said: “ON 08/24/2008 I PURCHASED A TV/BLU-RAY DVD AT THE FAYETTEVILLE BEST BUY STORE UNDER A PROMOTIONAL PROGRAM “TAKE 3-YEARS TO PAY WITH ZERO INTEREST.” WHEN I RECEIVED MY FIRST STATEMENT FROM HSBC I NOTICED A “DEBT CANCELLATION” CHARGE OF $28, WHICH I DID NOT ELECT NOR AUTHORIZE, AND WASN’T GIVEN THE OPTION OF ELECTING OR REFUSING. I WILL PAY OFF THE BALANCE OWED, AND NOT EVER MAKE ANY FURTHER PURCHASES FROM THEM IN THE FUTURE. BESTBUY HAD BETTER CHANGE THEIR WAY OF DOING BUSINESS, OR THEY WILL LOSE ALOT OF IT. I NORMALLY MAKE PURCHASES WITH CASH IN THE PAST. I WAS SCAMMED INTO THIS TRANSACTION BECAUSE IT SOUNDED GOOD WITH THE AMOUNT MONEY INVOLVED.”
