HSBC Account Central double bills customer

HSBC Account Central double bills customer

RS in Massachusettes said: “HSBC has an web site (https://www.accountcentralonline.com/cmuser/login/show.do) where you can pay your bill, view your statements and get reports of your past statements that show the total spending by each statement (with a bar graph visual), as well listing the detailed purchases. On June 26, 2008, I utilized the “Total Spending By Statement” feature and looked back over the year at my spending. During this process, I noticed that I had a huge increase in spending on a particular statement so I viewed it more carefully.

What I noticed turned my stomach! Every single item or service that I purchased during that statement period was listed twice, meaning doubled, on my online statement at account central. I immediately called them and spoke to someone asking for help. The young female working was rude and lacked empathy for my concern. I then asked to speak to her supervisor and that female was rude as well. I asked who was next in line and she said the CEO and gave me his name, I could fax my complaint to the “Executive Resolutions Unit.” Feeling extremely frustrated I asked her why couldn’t she look at my account and try to help me. She explained to me in a condescending manner that account central, the online web site had made a mistake with my account and that they would correct ASAP.

I told her that the double purchases were included in my current balance! Of course she said she could not help me and that the online site would be fixed. I requested that my statement from the month of concern be sent to me. That has not yet arrived. Once again, today, I went back to account central on line to see if they corrected my supposedly incorrect statement of the month that they doubled my purchases, only to discover that it has NOT been corrected! At this point I looked up the BBB to find info on HSBC, but their search engine could not locate them. That is when I searched again and found this website.

I am not sure where I go next, but I am paying on a balance that has an extra $1200.00 or so on it from back in 2007!! I need help knowing who to contact to begin correcting this error that is costing more money! Please help! Thank you!!”
