HSBC Finance extortion effects credit score
JB in Arizona said: “I did not receive a bill from HSBC Finance for 4 months and did not realize it because I pay so many cards a month. One day i get a email from them saying I am over my limit, so i call right away and confirm my address and they tell me that it was being sent back. Funny — i get all my other bills just fine. I agree to make a payment if they drop all the late and over limit fees, they agree to drop some, I make a payment by phone and they ask me to make another payment on the 17th by automated payment and HSBC says this will make me current.
I get a bill in the mail on the 3rd saying i owe 202.00 NOW, and my payment is 150.00 due on the 17th. Funny how all of a sudden i get their mail. I call this extortion not to mention it affected my credit score. They are total scams and ripping people off..They could resolve it by waiving all the fees and start being truthful and the way to avoid this is to avoid doing any business with HSBC period…”
