HSBC handles Bowflex account like a predator
RC in Nevada said: “I also have had no luck with making a payment with the site bowflex provided. I have always received my bill after the recommended mailing date and have been charged $39 for a late charge. Their methods seem unethical and slightly unresonable to me! ARRGG… VERY FRUSTRATING!”
Editor’s note: It is unethical and this is what we want to know: What is the FICO score above which HSBC does not do this to people? I ask because one of my relatives is a retired banker, has a million-dollar house, plenty of money in the bank and a great FICO score. He opened an interest-free 1 year Best Buy account, also serviced by HSBC, and never had a problem. Bills arrived on time, payments were credited on time, etc. The totality of the evidence, collected for many years, suggests that HSBC has a way to know, flag, or discriminate based on certain factors.
The other option is that customers are making everything up, and the fact that the bills arrive on or after the due date is a pack of lies. I had an HFC account and my friend had a Best Buy account. We know for a fact that bills arrive on or after the due date, and some do not arrive at all. How HSBC discriminates — and they do — is the million dollar question. Attorneys everywhere are looking for the answer.
