Suspect duplicate HSBC account will not accept payments
EV in Texas said: “HSBC will not let me pay over the phone or via website automatic payments. I have been receiving bills, as has my dad, for the same loan and no live help will talk to me to let me know if they have duplicated the account. My account balance keeps increasing because every time I try to set up auto payments, it does not go through and the balance returns as a huge new sum. I worry this may affect my credit. Anybody else not able to get precise answers from them?”
Editor’s note: document every date, time, and instance and file a report online with your attorney general. If possible, go to their offices and show them from there. If this is a new scam by HSBC it could be very effective unless it is stopped right now. This is the first report of this nature.
