Refund from HSBC is slow or does not exist
SS in Ohio said: “In March, 2008, I transferred my Best Buy balance to a newly acquired credit card. By mistake I transferred a higher balance than was due. I have been waiting since 4-10-08 for my refund. Today 6-23-08, for the fourth time, I have been asked to call the call center and ask to have the check researched again. The accounting department will conduct research to verify that the check has not been cashed and a new check will be sent out. I have been told the same thing three times prior. This weekend on a Saturday I was advised that the check was out for delivery and if it didn’t show up Saturday I should expect it on Sunday.
I advised the CSR that the Post Office didn’t deliver on Sunday nor did DHL, as I had been advised that DHL was the carrier delivering the package but no tracking number was available. Each time that I called I was advised to do the same thing… call back if I did not receive the package in the time specified to call on the next business day and start the process over each time that I have called. On several occassions I was told that it mailed out “yesterday” and was sent via overnight… I am waiting to receive the refund before I close the acct.”
