I sent them a simple fax giving them very clear instructions which the morons could not follow my instructions as follows: “Please send me ten thousand pounds converted to US dollars from my visa account number xxxxxxxx to above address in a registered draft.”
And now the nightmare begins! The morons at the Torquay branch in Torbay could not follow simple written instructions. The first error is that they did not register the draft and it was never logged at the bank and somehow it was lost in the post or mail. I asked for another ten thousand pounds to be sent to me, thinking they would send me the ten thousand that was lost. Guess what? They had the nerve to take another ten thousand out of my account! Furthermore they have taken one hundred and sixty one pounds out of my checking account which is a different account number which I did not give any authority to do so. I am so sick of this Bank that I HAVE STOPPED TWO OF MY ENGLISH PENSIONS GOING INTO THIS CRAZY BANK WHERE MORONS WORK.
Editor’s note: Torbay is on the southern coast of England, west of Portsmouth. However, if you Google “HSBC Torbay” many of the results are “HSBC Amanah finance.” While this customer is upset, HSBC sees more profit elsewhere. What do you make of this: “HSBC Bank plc, The world’s local bank … Branches, Branches (HSBC Amanah Finance), Branches (HSBC Amanah Finance), HSBC Amanah Finance, Morrisons …”
I was with the Midland bank in the year 1956 as it was the bank Cunard carried on the RMS Queen Elizabeth and after the Midland bank sold out I should have closed my accounts with them. However, better late than never. Should you want my full name and address I am quite willing to give it to you or any one who has had a bad experience with this terrible, terrible HSBC Bank.”
