CA in Canada said: “I recently called HSBC customer service because I was complaining about the past due amount of $97.00 which I don’t deserve. They didn’t send me the statement that I should be getting every month for 3 times. It’s a good thing that I was able to pay them on time by just relying on my own memory. I even called them to inform them about not receiving a statement but still I didn’t receive any statements from them. On the third month I made a check to pay the balance in full to close the account and I also included a letter to formally state my reasons for closing it.
Today, I was at first surprised to receive a statement from them just after I made a lot of effort just like a responsible credit card holder would do and then shocked upon reading that I have a past due amount!
Well of course, I know that you know what they said about my complaint - they mailed the statements that I should be getting and that it’s not their fault so I should pay for it. The person even threatened me that if I didn’t pay for it, they would report me to the credit bureau and I’d get a bad credit rating.
I have been very responsible and because of that I have a very good credit rating. It’s so unfair to be treated this way after HSBC got their fees and earned profit out of good payers like me. Now that I closed my account, they still run like crazy after me just to get more.
I hope that people will learn about my really bad experience with HSBC and if there’s someone who could help me with my situation, be advise or shared horror same story like mine, I’d appreciate it.”
