HSBC sent no credit card and no statement for 18 months
NL in Wisconsin said: “If I was to give advice to anyone with a HSBC card… GET RID OF THE DAMN THING!! Well there is the point that I am going to try to put across. I used to work for Younkers about 2 years ago. When I was hired they automatically signed me up for a HSBC card to make employee purchases. Which at the time was cool with me, well at least for about the first 9 days. For most card companies that you might have they would at the very least send you an actual card to make purchases. Yep, from the day I opened it to the day I closed the account I never received a card (about 18 months) or a bill/ statement.
One would think that to pay a bill you would at least have to know how much you owe and when it needs to be paid. I know every other bill that I have ever received has been paid early or at least on time. HSBC states that they had the correct address and there is no reason that they could see for me to not have received my bill. They said that the post office must have lost it! HAHA For real? Last time I looked into it the USPS has been around for about 150 years, pretty damn sure that they might have the whole mail delivery system down.
There is no possible way that my statement was lost 18 months in a row. But ok I guess they must know what they are talking about. Now how about their customer service! Top notch customer care I tell ya! Every person that I talked to within the customer care told me something different.
I was deployed after having my card for about 6 months. The deployment was on a 48 hr notice… find out Friday night and leave Monday at 4AM. In that time I had a ton of things to take care of since I was going to be gone for at least 6 months (turned out to be 9 months). As I was in the process of going through BWI, I called and had my mom authorized on the account. I also made sure that they had the correct address for me and was told my mom would receive a statement in about a week. I said great I will finally get a statement. My mom never received a statement and had to go to the store to make a payment. She was told that it was 30 days late. She emailed me overseas and I contacted HSBC. I was told that they sent a statement and again the USPS must have lost it.
OK I get it I must be cursed by the Post man. Great, so I inquired if this would in anyway hit my credit report… “Of course not” I was told. Well some time later when I come back from serving my country I take a look at my credit report. There it is listed to all 3 credit reporting agencies. When contacted again I was told that there is nothing they can do about it. So here I sit with this hurting my credit when it wasn’t my fault they bent me over. I am kind of lost on where to go from here but I do know that everyone I know will be well aware of what kind of company HSBC is. Good luck all, hope you all have much better luck with these morons.”
