DM in VIrginia said: “I paid off my Best Buy promotion balance before the date on my Nov 07 statement (the one that says, “pay by this date or you will have to pay full interest”). Now I am getting harassed, saying that I didn’t pay it off by the required date and now owe like $250 in interest payments.

This has happened with this company once before, but since I didn’t maintain the documentation from my statement showing that I paid it off before the date required on the statement, I just gave in and paid it. Now the same thing has happened again.

Since it’s Feb 08, I no longer have my Nov 07 statement. Is there anything I can do? I’m a VERY responsible bill-payer and pay attention to dates, etc. Ironically, I could have bought this TV from Best Buy with cash, but figured I’d enjoy the “free cash” of deferment. I will NEVER finance with HSBC again, but is there any way I can get back at this evil company?”
