CP in Maryland said: “This company violated the FTC act when trying to contact me at work. Not only did they harass me, but they harassed a secretary and my supervisor. One specific person, James, who was the harasser, complains that you have an attitude when you try to reason with him. He told me they looked up the value of one of my relatives homes and suggested I borrow money from them, which is also illegal for him to do. This company has had a settlement because of failure to abide by FTC rules and harrasing people. The settlement was for $240,000! Here is the URL for anyone interested in that: http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2002/04/unitedrecovery.shtm

(Also sometimes called United Recovery Agency, this agency tries to collect on former predatory accounts of Household International, and acts as a bill collector for HSBC.)
