CB in Georgia said: “I paid online for Davids Bridal which is through HSBC. They did not get my payment because according to my bank they did not send enough numbers to match my account number so the bank sent it back as account not found. HSBC told me it was for non sufficent funds. I had plenty of money in my account. I also did not get charged a fee for non sufficent funds by my bank.
HSBC submitted 9 or 10 numbers for my account and the account number is 13 numbers long. When you sign up to make a payment on-line they only ask for 9 to 10 numbers as your account number. I also went back in to sign up again and same story. They have no disclaimer that if your account is longer than the amount of numbers they ask for, your payment will not go through. Looking at this HSBC site they have to know this since I am not the only soul in the world who cannot pay on-line. they are very slow about everything and even slower in helping you.
They blamed me and told me I put my account number in wrong. I called them to verify all the numbers I gave them and it all matched exactly. There’s a surprise. I hate talking to someone in India who does understand the concept of banks and account numbers matching and being precise in the work they do. I have learned not to make a payment to them on-line again and I will be closing my account with Davids Bridal. They dont need my businees at all. What I want to happen is they take my payment of 45.00 and that be it but I know it wont be since someone said HSBC took them to court for chump change. They already sent my account to a collection agency so now I am getting nasty grams to pay up or else.”
