HSBC buys mortgage, starts series of multiple problems
AC in Pennsylvania reports: “Our Hsbc loan has been nothing but problems. HSBC went back and changed our payment amount from $785.85 to $907.00 6 months after the payments were already made. From the time they bought our loan they told us we were 2 months behind but we only had the loan for a month, then they told us we had an adjustable rate,we didn’t.
They forced place insurance after they forgot to pay our escrowed insurance and then hiked the payment up again. They escrowed twice what they need for our taxes and insurance. They restructured our loan without our consent and there was no principal applied for a year. We pay our late fees they said we never did. Each customer rep is nastier then the first. HSBC would call 14 times a day.
HSBC would take the wrong amount out of our checking account, bounce our account, when we made over the phone payments. They held our checks for 14 days before cashing them so they could say we were later then we were. We never get reimbursed the excess escrow. Escalated complaints refuses to address or fix the problem after 2 years going on three. We can’t refinance because our credit is screwed and even if we could we have a big fat 6% prepayment penalty so there is no was out.
I have never dealt with more heartless people in my life and if it takes me my whole life I will get retribution.
