Beneficial Finance causes Missouri home sale to fall through
VW in Missouri said: “We refinanced our house a few years ago with Beneficial. They totally screwed up our loan. We own our business and used part of our equity in our house as collateral when we did the refinance. They let the other company slip in as the 1st lien. When we wanted to sell our house, the bank with the business loan wanted their money. Beneficial’s legal department kept saying the other bank was wrong. It took 3 attorneys and a day in court to get it resolved. We still have our house because the buyers got tired of the mess. At one point they told us to file bankruptcy to get the other bank to back off! We are currently looking into doing a refinance again, with someone a little more reputable than Beneficial and HSBC.”
