More HSBC car title issues this week
PD in New York asks: “I had to move to NY on short notice for work. I have been attempting to get a title letter faxed from HSBC to the NYS DMV for over a week. I have never made a payment late, in fact I over pay monthly. I have spent 4 hours on the phone with them, and was even told the title department is “closed on Wednesdays” (again a week after I requested this document.) I now call, but they must have my file tagged in some way, as I just get put on hold for an hour or more, and still no documents. Any ideas how I can get them to give me what I need so I can get plates?”

I find myself caught in the HSBC “dryer” with so many others. “Dryer?” you may ask. Yes! My vehicle has been paid off early and they refuse to send me a Title. In some calls I’m told they don’t have, and never did, the Title. Another call and they acknowledge having the Title.
Who knows where my Title actually is. Why, it’s in the “dryer” with those socks that I’ve lost while drying them. It’s incredible.
In one call, I could hear the girl I was talking to sucking on a lozenge or Life Saver while she attempted to articulate her words. This was sad. Ya’ know, I find myself saying things that I’ve heard my parents say frequently, “What’s wrong with these young people today”. No doubt this comment will raise the ire of many. I only wish it would resurrect my Title.
