CM in North Carolina reports: “My son purchased an IPOD from Best Buy with the insurance protection plan. It was stolen and we filed the complaint within the 30 days. Just got a denial letter today stating it wasn’t received in time. I know it got there in time. Lucky for us I sent the complaint certified mail return receipt. Sure hope they don’t try to argue with USPS. I have the receipt and USPS confirmation of delivery time and date! Will post again if they still refuse to pay”
Editor’s Note: Always send mail addressed to HSBC with delivery confirmation or some other type of proof of delivery. The first step in HSBC’s weasel technique is to say your “claim” was not received in time. Of course they do the same thing with standard monthly payments. This is HSBC Finance, which was formerly known as predatory lender Household International. BEWARE
