TH in New Yorks says: “I have been on the phone between Home Depot and HSBC all morning. No yelling, just trying to get something accomplished. Then I was told my card would not work so I had to call the bank where we signed up in Cortland NY. I spoke with Rachel and asked why the card was still being held back and she told me that it was for my own good because I keep getting service charges. Well I am a small business and she is very right, but I pay for every charge and I must have my money to operate. I know it is home depot that owes me $8200 direct deposit and they did not get it right, but if I pay my debts, aren’t I the exact kind of customer a company like HSBC would want?

She said she was hanging up on me and I said, “but I have not cursed at you once”. (I work customer service for our business, calling and receiving calls for installs for Home Depot and I deal with angry customers fairly often). My husband asked if her name was Rachel and I asked how he knew and he said that was the same rude woman he saw talking down to another customer once and she was so condescending he remembered her name tag. Well that is the correct word to use. I was talked down to like a child.

I have been waiting for 8 weeks for my checks and Home Depot said they sent two checks ACH payments, but HSBC won’t let me have it till the 24th of Sept (today is 9/21) and I still don’t understand why, but I do have $290.00 in my account and she won’t let me use my card to get it, she says “for my own good” because she doesn’t want me getting anymore charges to my account.

I was $1400 negative because I had people to pay and I paid HSBC ALL of it, (deposited last Friday the 14th, but HSBC does not put the money into my account until one week later (Friday the 21st). This is why I have so many charges, but the point is, I always pay them. Isn’t this the kind of customer HSBC loves? Why treat me so poorly? She knows she has my balls because I have to wait for that money because I need it so badly. She knows she can talk to me anyway she wants and get away with it. I have never felt so small and expendable.

This is how we treat small business now… we are nobodies.. we are worthless to the BIG guys like HSBC and I can’t close my account and Rachel knows it. I don’t need her telling me how to run my business, just give me my damn money! We work hard enough for it, I assure you! I am so upset right now. If I talked to a Home Depot customer that way I would be fired on the spot and I would deserve it. This is one of those women who really gets off on making people squirm, they do exist and believe me, it is she!”
