LB in Florida says: “I had a Best Buy credit card. $600 balance. The very first statement arrived AFTER the due date…..I didn’t see it and sent the minimum due…. Second statemment arrives and late charge of $39 is added….I call, explain statement arrived to ME late and LC was removed… After this my payments were made on time, but obviously held by HSBC, creating additional late payments…each time I called and LC were removed – interesting huh? If I was always late , why do they continue to remove them ???

Perhaps they were hoping I would just pay them. Finally paid off card and CLOSED the dang thing in July 2007…..they did not post check until Sept 2007 ! Yep you guessed it, more late charges ! I have begun receiving numerous calls from their collection department…told them it is paid in full…….sent letters, documentation and records of all payments since August 4, 2007…this morning I sent the third round of papers and letters explaining THEIR error! I also advised that my attorney tells me that if they continue to call after I have both verbally and in writing asked them to stop, I can recoup my monies paid and damages…..we will see what happens ! I am getting a call every two days from these people…..I actually OVERPAID the account by $38.51 and they still claim I owe $347.00…..! I will NOT allow the to get away with it. I will have my attorney go after them plus contact media and newspapers!”
