An HSBC Ohio Foreclosure Avoidance Experience
CR in Ohio says: “My boyfriend has his house loan with HSBC. His former wife took responsibility of the house when they divorced and then stopped paying. We followed the hardship site they have on the HSBC web site and they would not help us with anything even though we paid and it was still current. They dragged us by the chain and said we could get a short sale and then didn’t and tried to trick us into it at the end.
We tried a deed in lieu and they never got back to us. Now the house is unpaid and we have no idea what is going on and we are waiting for the s— to hit the fan. The house has been empty for months and we offered to move in if they could lengthen the life of the loan to avoid foreclosure as suggested by their site -and no go. They enjoy hitting you up for late fees - which is a trick that is masked under the “grace period” - there is no grace period.
They will say you were late for all the years you are paying even though it says 15-day grace period on your bill. I hate this company and I wish everyone in the future boycotts any retail or merchant that uses them…. hmmm that is a project to consider.”
