People First Financial lets HSBC customer go to foreclosure
Watchdog

TC in Massachusetts said: “No one at HSBC has returned my calls, answered my letters, or faxes re: my loan modification. I’ve paid almost $3k to Peoples First Financial to work with HSBC to reduce my 11% home mortgage. I have not made a mortgage payment in almost 1 yr. per the advice of Peoples First Financial awaiting word from HSBC. Now HSBC is putting me into foreclosure. How does HSBC get away with this?”

The Answer: The truth comes from the North Carolina Attorney General’s office. The AG’s office calls “Operation Loan Lies,” a nationwide crackdown on loan modification and foreclosure relief companies that local and state officials call “scams.” The office has obtained a preliminary injunction against 21st Century Legal Services. They also got a temporary restraining order for a company called People’s First Financial.
