TH in Indiana says: My mother purchased a TV at Best Buy for Same As Cash (SAC). She told the clerk she only wanted the SAC but the clerk told her she couldn’t proceed unless she took the insurance and the card. The clerk told her to cancel the insurance when the bill came if she didn’t want it. My mother called to cancel the insurance the day she received her bill with the insurance charges. HSBC acknowledges the call, but now says my mother changed her mind and decided not to cancel. HSBC did not cancel the insurance. My mother paid for the TV early and still is incurring interest and late fees for the insurance charges. The account is now up to $300. We have written numerous letters and have talked to numerous people within HSBC but no one will listen. They only want money. My mother feels scammed by both Best Buy and HSBC.”
