SB in Wisconsin said: “I fell behind with my HSBC car payment. When I tried to pay it they locked me out of the only payment I have ever made online. I had had problems even logging in because they had the hint wrong.
I finally got hold of somebody in India and asked to be transferred or given the option of another number to call. The person was very hard to understand. It took 24 hrs to get hold of a California based call center. The person took my bank information and told me that this would bring my payments up to date.
I asked for email confirmation and they said they were sending it right away. I called back later in the day because I hadn’t gotten the email even though he verified my address and email address. I didn’t even get through the phones. Before when I put in my account number it would tell me the status of the account. Now it just puts me on hold forever or tells me the office is closed.
I know the office wasn’t because their own recording said it should be open for another 5 hrs. Every time I try to get through to any of their phone numbers the minute I put in my account number or social security number it just puts me on hold., I checked the internet and it won’t let me into the payment screen and the payment is not showing up anywhere on their system.
I really believe since they have pulled out of the market in the USA (I was told when I took the loan that it was a California company) they are using any excuse to repo and sell cars and then go after the difference instead of servicing loans for year.”
