JO in Georgia says: “I live in Georgia and after HSBC took over my loan my life as a home owner has went to hell. Right after I refinanced in `04, HSBC took bought my loan, forgot to pay my escrow and from that my payments went up over $200.00 a month. I have owned my home since 1995 and was never late, paid my own insurance and taxes and never had a hitch. After they took it over, my insurance, due to thier neglect, went from 450 a year to over 1500 and they will not talk to me about it. I lost my insurance company and had to find another to get thier insurance off my loan.
My escrow is 1.5 times what my taxes and insurance is and my payment, by thier standards, are never on time. I have payed over my payment every month since I have been with them and still my May payment that I just sent in is going to my March payment. If that is not predatory then neither were the cavemen. Something needs to be done in court about these vultures. Do not ever give them your phone numbers and go on line and change yours to some alias number as I have. Everytime that I call them for a headache, I use a payphone like a common criminal so they cannot get my cell number.
I have recordings of my conversations with their rude and smart*** people and when I get in court, I am going to have their jobs. If more people will do this maybe someone can stop them for all of us. I am not going to loose my home to these vultures! “

I too had a problem…they did not pay my escrow after the first year I was with them (HSBC)…I wrote a letter to which they stated they never got…then I sent a certified letter plus a fax stating I wanted the escrow account closed because they were incompetent…this was done only after they received my certified letter…then, back In January of this year (2007) I called on the 11th of JAN to tell them I wanted to switch from the twice a month plan to just paying the full amount every month on the first…I was already paid up for JAN and did not want to be debited on the 15th…they confirmed that I would not, but they did it anyway on the 16th (the 15th was a holiday MLK day) over 550.00 of whic caused other transactions to bounce at the bank that I had already planned for since I was not to be cahrged until the 1st of FEB..my NSF fees totaled 380.00…I even received a letter showing that I would not be billed until the first of FEB…so I called…and called…and called..and I only get people that speak terrible English from Asia or wherever HSBC has outsourced their Cust. Service Dept to…anyways, I get this jack-*** of a supervisor on the phone who can’t believe I want my 550 refunded back to me…I lashed at him over the phone and told him what I thought of his DUH attitude as well as the NSF’s my bank charged me…he stated, thats fine, just send us a copy of your bank statement’s fees and we’ll take care of them…and I did…you know what? I actually did get my refund for over 550.00, but NOT the nsf’s they caused me to incur…I just finished remodeling my home in MAY and I have now been pursuing a new loan just this week…everything went well and I received my payoff from these guys..HSBC is the worst mistake I ever made in dealing with a mortgage company…they can all go to hell…I wish they would read this post and call me…that would be great….
I here ya. If more people will get out and stand up to them and record their conversations maybe we can do something with them and they will have to change. Keep plugging away and good luck!
