GS in Maryland reported: “I am having a terrible time dealing with HSBC. I have been trying to get them to refinance my mortgage from an adjustable rate mortgage to a 30 year fixed mortgage so I do not lose my home to foreclosure. On the one hand, HSBC seems to not want to help me at all but then with the “luck of the draw” I answer yet another harrassing phone call (they call 15 to 20 times a day) and seem to get someone who “understands” my situation only to get transferred to the WE CARE ABOUT YOU department and get someone who “disconnected” me and NEVER (THAT IS NOT EVER) called me back.

I fought with them for SIX months the whole time having to come up with $3300.00 on what started out to be a $1600 mortgage. Even after working out a six month payment arrangement I am still getting threatening to foreclose letters from HSBC and when I call crying (literally crying I am so upset)they say oh we see you have made an arrangement and we will note you called BUT they never say to DISREGARD the letter. I expect a sherriff to show up on my doorstep any day to tell me I have to pack up and leave. This worries me as my husband is still recovering from a kidney transplant and we have a 2 year old child. I need to talk to someone who is knowledgable in the laws to determine if HSBC has done something wrong.

It just doesnt seem right that we may lose our home because we are going through difficult times due to my husbands transplant and related health issues. We are good people who have always tried to do what is right and pay our bills on time but we cant pay our other bills if HSBC is raping our wallet every month to the tune of $3300.00. Please help us! We live in Maryland.”
