HSBC - 40 to 50 Calls From India Is Filthy Business

JG in Ohio says:  “HSBC frequently hold my checks until the late date and cashes them on that exact date. I have an automated payment from my bank which sends a certified check 400 miles the 27′th of every month. It has never been cashed within 10 business days. HSBC puts $4650 a year in escrow, yet my taxes are set at $2010 and my insurance is $750. They have no explanation as to where the extra money is and when I asked for records I was transferred and then hung up on. If my payment was not received by the 2′nd of the month, I was bombarded with 40-50 calls a day from India even though I assured them the payment was on its way. The would call from 6 am to 10 pm 7 days a week. I got these calls for a good 7-8 days a month and then my check would show up cashed either on the late date or one day before. HSBC just decided to raise my rate 3%. HSBC got an appraiser to appraise my house at 210,000 one year after I bought it at 155,000 most likely knowing I was in need of the funds for unexpected home repairs (I made a mistake and told their broker).  I’m not going to pay them another dime. Is there anything we as a group can do to stop them? I have all my original paperwork. I’d rather let them take a loss and me take a hit on my credit then pay them anymore for their filthy business practices.”

  1. HSBC was to take direct payment eveymont regarding my cc. I was traveling in a remote area of South Asia for school. When I returned I found out that they never took the payments and decided to close the account with out notifying me! Absolute bull!!! I cannot even get someone on the phone to hear me out and take a payment in full of the past due balance!! good business practices!!! Its a total scam!!! Why would a company sell an account off after only four months…and had a normal payment history!!

  2. I live in Georgia and after HSBC took over my loan my life as a home owner has went to hell. Right after I refinanced in `04, HSBC took bought my loan, forgot to pay my escroll and from that my payments went up over 200.00 a month. I have owned my home since 1995 and was never late, payed my own insurance and taxes and never had a hitch. After they took it over, my insurance, due to thier neglect, went from 450 a year to over 1500 and they will not talk to me about it. I lost my insurance company and had to find another to get thier insurance off my loan. My escroll is 1.5 times what my taxes and insurance is and my payment, by thier standards, are never on time. I have payed over my payment every month since I have been with them and still my May payment that I just sent in is going to my March payment. If that is not “predatory” then neither was the cavemen. Something needs to be done in court about these vultures. Do not ever give them your phone numbers and go on line and change yours to some alias number as I have. Everytime that I call them for a headache, I use a payphone like a common criminal so they cannot get my cell number. I have recordings of my conversations with their rude and smart*** people and when I get in court, I am going to have their jobs. If more people will do this maybe someone can stop them for all of us. I am not going to loose my home to these vultures!
